GLOOSCAP CHASING BEAVER IN CANSO
Glooscap tried to chase and stop the Beaver from doing so much damage to the waters of Cape Breton.
You see, the Beaver was a nuisance to our great Glooscap, because of his mischievous ways, that always led to problems from dams to floods: So this shows, Glooscap trying to chase the Beaver out of Unamaki, right from the Canso entrance, where the landmark of the Porcupine Mountain was made; also the result of the many little Islands in the Bras’do lake, to the Canal in St. Peters.
In one of his legends from, the tales is that he had finally made the beaver the size he is, because of his troublesome ways, before he started his troubles, the beaver was as large as our great Glooscap.
